I'm Michalis "BIG Mike" Kotzakolios and I have an AMAZING
graphics program that I use every day and I want to share
with you why I think you would benefit in so many different ways
by using it yourself!
If you're like me, you've probably got hundreds, if not
thousands of blank header graphics sitting around on your
computer, right? And every time you want to use one, you either
struggle with adding your text to it (ending up with something,
shall we say , "less than professional") and rarely getting what
you envision.
Or, like myself, you might actually be paying someone to do this
for you, which is fine, but then you're waiting for them to
actually do it and going through revisions until they get it
right!
I won't kid you - I don't have an artistic bone in my body, but
I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on PLR Header
Graphics over the years and of course all the money spent on
modifications because every time I try to add text to them
myself, they come out looking like absolute CRAP!
Well, earlier this year I got so fed up with what should be a
simple and easy process that I sat down with my friend and
partner Diego Hernando and we designed a Windows Graphics
Program from scratch to do just that!

How GFX Writer Works For You
Real quick, let's walk through the process of of using GFX
Writer to make a typical header graphic.
STEP 1 -
IMPORT BLANK HEADER
In this step I Insert a blank header graphic I've
found on my hard drive that was designed for a website
targeting Ladders:
STEP 2 - ADD
TEXT AND FORMAT
Next, I type in the text I want to use, position it on the
header and then select the font, size
and color I want to use (Stencils font in
sizes 36, 14 and 20):
STEP 3 -
COLORIZE AND ADD TEXT EFFECTS
Now comes the fun part - we're going to choose our colors
and add special text effects like a drop shadow
and an outline or border around the text:
STEP 4 - SAVE
AND EXPORT
Last of all, I'm going to save my project, export my
header to a Jpeg image format and it's ready to
use! I can always come back later and re-open my project to
modify this header if I need to because GFX Writer
uses a special project format similar to PSD files.
That whole process, using simple text and effects, took about 3
minutes to do. Actually, it took me longer to make the screen
shots and upload them than the actual graphics. That sample
was very simplistic - take a look at a more complex graphic
made up by my friend and beta tester Ken Leatherman:
Simply by using a combination of colors, font sizes
and positioning, Ken was able to whip up an awesome
header for a new content site he was producing. What's
really impressive is that Ken has no graphics experience
or skills whatsoever, so this example speaks volumes about how
effective GFX Writer really is!
I'll let you in on a little secret too - you can also use GFX
Writer to create graphics from scratch by importing
images (graphic objects) positioning them and adding
your text. With a little creativity, you can actually make some
really nice graphics in any size to suit your needs!
